POST SEASON UPDATES:
8/20/08 - William Semonsen and Spencer Steer were selected to the 10 Year Old Pacific Southwest Regional All Tournament Team. Congratulations to William and Spencer for receiving this recognition...Los Altos is proud of you!
7/30/08 - Please see below for a message from the 10-year-old team manager, Chris Steer.
7/28/08 - Well I'm sorry to report that the 10's have been eliminated in another 1 run game. They looked great but the balls didn't fall right for our mighty 10's. Maybe next year. We still await the 9's. Congratulations 10's for representing so well.
7/27/08 - Well the road to the World Series for the 12's hit a road block when they lost to Hawaii the second time. Los Altos was 4th out of 9 to end the regional at 500. As the Dodgers say "maybe next year".
7/27/08 - The 10's lost to Hawaii today but are still in it. Stay Tuned.
7/26/08 - 10's are 2 and 0 and can advance to the finals with one more win.
the 12's came back after a brusing loss to Elkgrove to have another come from behind win against Utah.
7/26/08 - The final score was Los Altos 11 to 10 Utah. Utah was leading 10 to 3 in the fifth but we are still alive to face Hawaii again tomorrow. A win tomorrow and we advance to the finals
7/25/08 - 10's Mercy Arizona in 4 Innings! Well, now we have the 10's and 12's at 1 win 0 losses going into Friday. Go Los Altos.
7/23/08 12's advance to play Elkgrove the No. Cal Team on Friday at 7pm!!!
7/20/08 The 8's won their first game against Fowler, AZ 9 to 4 but lost their second game to No. California's Bakersfield 11 to 1 in 4.? They just need to win today to advance to the Semi Finals.? Go Los Altos!!!!!

Congratulations 10U Southern California
All Star Champs!
Congratulations to the boys for a fantastic All Star Season. I think it is important to highlight what they accomplished. Their record of 4-2 and a Southern California State Championship and a 3rd place finish in the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament does not tell the whole picture of how well they played. In the six games the boys scored 51 runs and only allowed 13 runs. The one run loss to Hawaii and Buchanan after leading the entire game for the most part were heartbreakers and could have gone either way but the calls and the ball did not bounce the boys' way this time. For our boys to be the only team left standing in the end along with Buchanan and Hawaii is a testament of what a super team they are. Also, it shows how consistent they are since they finished second last year in the 9 yr old all star tournament losing to Buchanan in the championship game. The third base umpire after the game said, "Los Altos and Buchanan are the two best teams in the tournament and this game should have been for the championship." In the end, the boys are a resilient bunch and I feel have grown closer as a team because of this experience. I also believe that they have learned some great life lessons, built character, and have matured through this tournament experience. This level of baseball has the ability to challenge these boys beyond the game itself, such as how to deal with adversity, disappointment, failure & success, in addition to developing good sportsmanship, work ethic, determination & teamwork.
I'm extremely proud of these boys and look forward to what they accomplish as a team when they are 11 & 12 years old. Thank you parents for your commitment, support and of course all of the fun and great laughs we had in Simi Valley and Bakersfield. We should all feel fortunate for what a great group of families we have that truly love their boys and love watching them play baseball at such a high level.
